As 2019 draws to a close, I wanted to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all those who have chartered with Indigo Bay this year and I hope the memories will stay with you for ever. We’ve had a terrific year organising some fantastic holidays for what I’m thrilled and grateful to say is a growing list of happy clients. Destinations have included the Balearics, the Greek Islands, the Caribbean, Turkey and Croatia, while the yachts we’ve supplied have ranged from ‘cool’, speedy motor yachts to large, family-friendly catamarans, performance sailing yachts and the increasingly popular motor cats.
It feels like I have spent more time than ever at charter shows, looking over yachts, meeting crews, and generally getting a feel for what yachts are available, and more importantly, which ones I feel happy to recommend to our clients. Nick meanwhile has spent much of the year alone in the office dealing with new enquiries, and generally helping me keep on top of the workload. Nick is a commercially qualified skipper with a passion for beautiful sailing yachts. Having recently been at two Virgin Island charter shows followed by the Antigua show, I can confidently say that there are some fabulous fleets in that part of the world and if you’re based in Europe and you’re dreaming about a bit of winter sun, it’s definitely not too late to snap up some terrific last-minute deals. And looking ahead to summer and the Mediterranean season, the choice of where to go, and on what type of yacht, has never been greater. Having enjoyed a wonderful trip around the Greek Islands in September, the Cyclades have most definitely become a personal favourite, and I can suggest a simply wonderful itinerary if you fancy exploring this beautiful region.
